About
My name is Symone Brown
After the experience I had with having my daughter, I felt a deep calling to become a birth doula. I knew I wanted to change the way birthing people receive support and care. From that moment, I became determined to empower birthing people with the care and advocacy they deserved. My work is guided by empowerment, advocacy, and evidence-based care to ensure my clients feel safe, supported, heard, prepared, and confident. I specialize in birth support, immediate postpartum care, lactation, comfort measures, and birth planning, and I proudly accept Medicaid applicants to make my services accessible to more families.
As a parent myself, I know firsthand how important it is to have someone who truly listens. After nearly losing my life to eclampsia, I experienced the harsh reality of medical professionals dismissing my concerns—until my fiancé and my baby’s nurse, both Caucasian, spoke up for me. That moment reinforced my mission: to advocate fiercely for birthing people so they are heard and respected.
What I love most about being a doula is witnessing the pure joy on parents’ faces when they meet their baby for the first time. Birth is powerful, and I want every parent to know they are capable and that their body was made for this experience.
